Yesterday was rough, but things will get better... we hope. After Cory got done working, his sponsor dropped him off at our new hotel and said he wouldn't be back until the next morning. After spending a few minutes on the internet in the room, we decided to go explore our new "home". Cory and I walked for about 2.5 hours in the area around the hotel. We found a few local shops, a grocery store, and very few people who spoke English. Language barriers are very difficult to get around. Guess that means it is time to start learning German!
Technology is wonderful! We finally got cell phones yesterday and are doing a prepay phone instead of a contract. They are smartphones and we downloaded an app called HeyWire so we can text with people in the states (as long as they also get the app). Skype has also been a wonderful thing to have. I got to talk to my mom and dad yesterday! It was so good to see my dad and know that he is continuing to get better. Mom is one tough person to have so much patience with him right now. Thank you to all who have sent thoughts and prayers their way. Hopefully tonight we will get a chance to talk to Cory's parents too!
Cory spent last night studying for the driving test here in Germany. He will take the test this afternoon and assuming all goes well, we will be AGGRESSIVELY looking for a car to buy so that we can get around on more than our own two feet.
